Nutritionists have an accredited university degree (at least a BSc). We are registered with the Association for Nutrition, the organisation that protects you by overlooking us, nutritionists to make sure that we are adequately qualified and comply with their rigorous professional and ethical standards. AfN also monitors our continuous professional development to ensure that our knowledge is up-to-date, and we work based on the latest scientific findings.
We are trained to understand how the food that we eat influences our bodily systems (e.g. digestive, cardiovascular, endocrine or nervous system), and what changes should be made in your diet and lifestyle to make these systems work optimally so you can feel happy and healthy.
We do this through working with you closely to find out about your individual needs and formulating a personalised plan for you to achieve your goals.
Different nutritionists might focus on different aspects of health. While we all are competent to advise you in a wide range of health issues, our professional development will focus on developing expertise in our chosen area. It’s aways best to work with someone who is an expert in your specific health issue.
A successful program also requires a deep connection between nutritionist and client. You will let us in on details of your life that probably you would only share with your closest friends. There needs to be trust and mutual understanding, so choosing the person is just as important as choosing the area of expertise.
Meet Kat
Hi, I’m Kat, your nutritionist at WholeSoMe Nutrition. I graduated in 2024 from Northumbria University Newcastle (UK) and I hold a first class BSc(Hons) degree in Human Nutrition. I’m very proud to share with you, that upon graduation I have received a prize for the “Best Undergraduate Academic Performance on a Biology, Food and Nutrition Programme”. This prize is awarded for the best result determined by the highest classification average.
By the time I started university, nutrition had already been my passion for 8 years. During this time I have read and listened to a vast number of articles, blogs, books, podcasts, Ted talks and research around and about health and diets. I even completed a Nutritional Therapist course in 2015, which just made me crave a more in-depth knowledge. So as soon as my motherly duties allowed, I applied to Northumbria. During my final year of university I was lucky enough to be trusted by people just like you, and transformed their lives through small, manageable changes that made a huge difference in how they feel. During our work together, I gained valuable experience in supporting journeys through weight loss, preparing for menopause, nutritional deficiency, food sensitivity, and type 2 diabetes.
In 2024 my dream to become a consultant nutritionist finally became reality. Supporting people to become a healthier and happier version of themselves, is extremely rewarding and gives me a lot of joy.
While for a long time I couldn’t pick one single area I would want to specialise in, now I have a growing interest in women’s health and most of my ongoing, in-depth studies are around this area.
While working with my clients, from the very start, I realised how little it is known among women about how their cycle influences their nutritional and lifestyle needs. A topic that concerns 100% of the women who were born with functioning ovaries. I want this to change. Therefore I’m mostly working with women between the age of 18 and 50, on a one-to-one basis as well as in form of group sessions. Additionally, I also deliver education through webinars, courses and live events.
